We are immensely proud of the achievements of our volunteers in such a small space of time and the passion showed for helping re-home Kerry Blue Terriers.
To ensure longevity we felt we needed to make some changes to enable us to continue to help as many Kerry Blue Terriers as possible. As some of you will know just over a year ago we started the kerry blue rescue page on Facebook to help kerry blue terriers who find themselves in need of rehoming or find themselves in rescue. In May 2016 we started our own website and since then the interest and support has gone from strength to strength. Unfortunately since the launch of the website we have also seen the amount of Kerrys needing our help increasing. In order to promote confidence and provide a professional and legal platform we felt that it was important to fully register the organisation as an official rescue. It’s also fair to say that given the increased amount of Kerrys needing new homes we couldn’t have reached our vision (being able to help any Kerry in need) without registering the rescue. As such; It gives me great pleasure to announce that as of 1st September 2016 the Kerry Blue Terrier Rescue is fully and legally registered as a non profit making organisation. By registering the rescue it not only proves our intention to be visible for many years to come to help Kerrys in the UK who need help but that we are also completely transparent in our intentions. We are now in a position where we can fundraise and receive donations so that we never have to turn away a kerry in need. We will endeavour to keep the administrative costs low so that as much of the donated funds will go directly to whatever is necessary in order to rehome the kerry so as to ensure that the kerry has the best possible transition into their new home. No funds are used to pay any of the committee members nor volunteers in our network. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters for everything done so far. Having your support gives us confidence to really push forward with the rescue; ensuring that we can continue to help find Kerrys in need their loving forever homes. Many Thanks Mark, Bridie and Emma.

Nelson is a stunning 5 year old Kerry Blue Terrier boy who's owners are heartbroken to have to re-home him through no fault of his own. Nelson loves Children and is great with people and Loves nothing more than an adventure in the car. He also loves a good walk as well as curling up at the feet of his owner and his daughter and is a great family dog. Nelson currently lives with mum and dad and their 6 year old daughter. Nelson loves to sleep in his crate (including at night), walks well on the lead and travels well. Whilst he hasn't lived with any other dogs he hasn't shown any aggression to other dogs whilst on walks. Nelson loves his human contact and doesn't like to be left for long periods of time. He is fully house trained, eats well, has no known health issues and is a fit dog. He is currently in the Merseyside area and it would be expected that any prospective new owners should be prepared to meet and greet Nelson first before rehoming. This boy is truly adorable; so if you are interested in offering him a loving forever home as part of your family and a place in your hearts please get in touch with the rescue for an application form. This is the adorable Gorm.
This is the "oh so cute" Bobby. Bobby is a 3 and a half year old neutered kerry blue male who is looking for his forever home through no fault of his own. His owner is having to very reluctantly re-home him due to family illness. Bobby is a very playful and affectionate boy who lives for his walks and treats and loves a small piece of biscuit before bedtime. He is very loving and a much loved part of the family who have had him since he was 10 weeks old. Bobby does get boisterous when he first meets people but soon settles and has never lived with children. Whilst Bobby has never lived with another dog he has never showed any signs of aggression whilst out on walks and walks regularly with his doggie friends. Bobby currently sleeps on the landing of his home but is also fully crate trained and regularly takes himself there for a sleep during the daytime. Bobby is currently on a raw meat diet as he can sometimes have a sensitive stomach. Bobby is good in the car, walks well on the lead, has no known health issues and is currently in the London area. She is fully vaccinated and chipped If you can offer this adorable boy a loving forever home as part of your family please get in touch with the rescue for an application form. kerrybluerescue@gmail.com Tilly is a young 10 year old neutered Kerry Blue who finds herself in need of a forever loving home through no fault of her own.
This is Harris (Previously Theo) who was found wondering the streets of Birkenhead (UK) earlier this year. In May 2016 Angela Russell rescued him and took him into her family. It's fair to say that he his no longer a city boy and loving his new life. Here are some photo's of him with his adoptive sister Bluebell and their friends Well done Angela and Bluebell for giving him such a loving new life. We're delighted to announce that Rex has now found his loving forever home and we couldn't be happier.
This is "Kerry", an adorable 3 year old neutered Kerry Blue Terrier bitch who is sadly looking for a loving forever home due to the sad passing of her owner. She has an adorable smile, loves to be cuddled and fussed and enjoys playing fetch. Kerry is a lively and excitable girl with lots of energy to burn who loves her exercise. Is fit, strong and healthy. She will happily sleep downstairs though does sometimes pine when left in the house on her own. Kerry needs an experienced active home with no young children. We would consider rehoming her with another male dog. If you can offer her the loving home she deserves please get in touch. kerrybluerescue@gmail.com Hi. Mark Here's Rex enjoying a walk with Tammie (one of the volunteers at the rescue) and her two dogs. He met her girl Amazon for the 1st time on Tuesday though she thought she'd hold off introducing him to rogue the bouncy 11 month old (her words not mine!) ...but today she went for it, he really is amazing!!! (I agree!)
I'm over the moon to say that Rex has now been reserved!! I just want to say a massive massive thank you on behalf of Rex to everyone who shared his post, sent well wishes, offered support and helped with finding him his new forever home. The biggest thank you though goes to all those at www.animalrescuecumbria.co.uk who have done an amazing job with Rex. They are a superb rescue organisation who put the animals at the heart of everything they do. They're simply brilliant. Well done guys. X |
