Well it's fair to say that when the rescue started out we believed that we would possibly rehome approx. 10 kerrys a year in the UK given how they are such a vulnerable breed.....sadly we were wrong. Since May 2016 we have rehomed 30 Kerrys (August 2017) and have 5 more currently looking for their loving foster/forever homes. The Kerry Blue Terrier is an amazing and rare breed of dog who once owned have massively loyal supporters. They are a brilliant family dog and love (and need) lots of stimulation and exercise and some can be feisty with other dogs but will always show you an amazing amount of love, companionship and loyalty. Once you've owned a kerry, their spirit never leaves you. We are currently looking for loving homes for this amazing breed. If you are interested in finding out more then please contact the rescue on [email protected]

My decision to have an Airedale terrier breed as a room mate was a hard choice. This was a breed that had been put together from different breeds to acquire an animal that was to help the people that needed a special purpose. My first Airedale came home with me in 1969. But still, there was old time talk of this breed and its make-up. Looking, also, at different breeds lead to different groups. Then back to studying the terrier. Generally speaking a terrier will offer what you need and give his all and can be trained to do anything and everything any thing else. So, now, I am at a mind question should these old breeds kept secret. The new designer dollar dog will deter people from learning about the animal. They are the cool ones (dog and human) at the moment. The Kerry is not a so bad up keep. Really neet-o soft curly coat, smart, smart, smart and willing. I have taken my blue and at one time my red Irish, out and about. It makes me proud when asked, "what kind of mixed breed is that." These dogs are exceptional in every way. Knowledge is a must for owner.

We have previously owned a rescue soft coated Wheaton but sadly lost him after 12 years to cancer , we also have a Tibetan terrier who is 2 years old and is not coping well now on his own so needs a companion. We have had home checks for angel s rescue and have passed with no restrictions we would love to be conceded to adopt as kerrys are close to Wheatons and we think we could offer a active happy life to a younge dog who would enjoy beach and country walks and play with our Tibetan. Please let me know if we may be concided thankyou x
