Hi. My name is Shona, and, accompanied by my Kerry Blue Terrier Betty, we walked the 102km Forth/Clyde and Union canal towpaths from Bowling on the Clyde to the Lochrin Basin in Edinburgh. We began our trip on Friday 29th September and completed our adventure on Sunday 1st October. We undertook this challenge to raise funds for the Kerry Blue Terrier Rescue.
I rescued Betty at the age of 16 months and for the past 7 years she has been my faithful walking and hill climbing companion. Since 2021 we have completed our 282 Munros and 226 Munro Tops together - she is only the second dog to have achieved this!
The Kerry Blue Terrier is an at-risk native dog breed and the Kerry Blue Terrier Rescue is a small volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation which can help find new homes for KBT's that have come to the attention of the Rescue. This can involve costs such as temporary foster care, kennelling, vet bills etc. The Rescue relies solely on donations for funding and any amount you feel you can give will be hugely appreciated.
